Diagnosis

The CPMP | Comprehensive Pain Management Partners team of orthopedic pain management specialists can diagnose the source of foot and ankle pain during a comprehensive history, physical examination, and imaging such as X-ray, CT Scan, ultrasound, MRI and/or lab tests.

Causes

Pain in the foot and ankle can be grouped into several categories:

Referred pain from the back, hip, or knee
Soft tissue injuries including the Achilles tendon and plantar fascia
Bone injuries including fractures, stress fractures, and arthritis
Infection or gout
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Treatments

Depending on the cause of your foot and ankle pain, you may be a good candidate for:

Physical therapy, rest, ice, NSAIDS, elevation
PRP therapy
Stem cell therapy
Steroid injections
Nerve block and peripheral nerve stimulation
